This Always Makes Him Smile

He loves this!  We just have to watch out for drool.

My Little Lion

Finn's first Halloween costume.  I couldn't pass this up.  It was so cute!!  Jason is going to be duck hunting in South Dakota during Halloween so I decided to dress him up in his costume the other day so Jason could see how cute he is in it.  Actually, I think I am going to dress him in this costume several times.  It would be a waste of money if he only wore it once or twice...

Morning Moments With Daddy

Rainforest Jumparoo!

Now that he can support his body weight a little better, Finn is ready for the jumparoo!  This is quite an exciting day for him. He immediately started playing with all the little toys attached to this activity center.  Pretty soon he will learn how to jump in it.

What Would We Do Without Fold-Out Couches??

All the kids sleep on fold-out couches during nap time at the sitter's.  I just got Finn a Toy Story couch.  Boston and Cali were glad to make room for him in the living room.

Finn loves watching the older children play.  He smiles and
giggles at them all the time.  He is too young to play with them; but at least he can feel like a big boy at nap time.

Yummy Cereal!

Dr. Eisenhut (Finn's doctor) recommended that we start giving Finn cereal in the mornings.  He said that since he is larger than most babies his age, he is probably ready to start cereal a little early.  We are going to give him rice cereal, then oatmeal, then wheat cereal, then barley cereal (I didn't even know they made that many kinds of baby cereal; but apparently they do).  Dr. Eisenhut wants us to try each kind for a week, then move to veggies.  At first, Finn didn't understand how to swallow the rice cereal, but he got better at it after several bites.  I don't think he cared for the taste of it though...

He got frustrated with it towards the end.  I think I let him get a little too hungry before I tried this.  He just wanted to nurse.  He looks like he is flipping the bird at us in the last picture.  But have you ever tasted rice cereal?  I did; and it is gross.  I think I would be mad if someone made me eat it too.

Having a Good Morning

He was so cute this morning!  He is usually in such a good mood when he wakes up.  It makes it a lot easier for me to get ready in the morning.  I usually have about 45 minutes before he is over it and wants a change of venue.

Sometimes JJ keeps him company, which buys me a little more time.

Pointing His Fanny to the Heavens

I think this picture speaks for itself...
I noticed he has been sleeping like this for weeks.

4 Month Check Up

Today we took Finn to the doctor for his 4 month check up.  He didn't gain as much weight as I thought.  He weighs 16lbs 10oz (83rd percentile); he is 27 inches long (99th percentile) and his head is measuring in the 89th percentile.  At his 2 month check up he was 15lbs 15oz and was 25 inches long.  He didn't even gain one pound.  But he does seem a lot taller.

Dr. Eisenhut is really nice.  He is so good with babies.  Look at Finn holding his finger.  We really like him and he seems to genuinely care about Finn.

He is so happy here.  He has no idea he is about to get 3 shots.

Luckily he recovers from it pretty quickly.  I am the one who can't handle it.  I did better this time.  I cried the last time he got shots.  Jason is the one who holds him down when he gets them.  I can't do it.  I can't even bare to watch.  It is so pathetic!  But I hate it that he is in pain; even if it is only for a minute.

He even got his first sticker.
Finally home, and ready to take a nap.
