Window Time With JJ

17 Week Update

I have gotten through the yucky part of this pregnancy.  I don't feel sick or super tired anymore.
I am starting to feel back to normal.  We don't plan on finding out what the sex of this baby is until he/she is born.  So we are doing the same thing we did for Finn as far as picking names goes.  We created a list of boy names and girl names that we kind of like, and hung it on the fridge.  We add names to it and cross names off of it as we look at them and decide that we like or dislike them.  We haven't landed on anything yet, but have come up with a couple possibilities.

Easter

Easter was really fun this year.  I look forward to Easter every year.  I love to get together with my family and share traditions with them.  This year was different.  I was more excited for Finn to get to experience all the things I love about Easter for the first time.  I know that as he gets older, he will get to participate more in the Easter egg hunt, swinging at the pinata and playing with the other children.  He did have his first taste of our traditional chicken paprikash dinner.  He seemed to really like it.  He ate every bite!

He looked so dapper!

He found a couple of eggs; with the help of Daddy.

10 Months Old

I can't believe Finn is already ten months old.  Time has really flown.  This is what he has been up to lately:  He pulls himself up to a standing position all the time.  He just learned how to get down from that position. He used to just cry when he was ready to sit down.  He was too afraid to fall.  He has just started walking along things; like the couch.  He speed crawls everywhere!  He slaps his hands really hard onto the ground when he crawls.  It is loud on our hardwood floors.  He definitely won't be sneaking up on anyone anytime soon.  He has 6 teeth (4 on top and 2 on the botom).  He is about to cut another tooth on the bottom.  He says a couple words regularly: "Uh-Oh" and "Jay Jay".  He has said a few other words a few times, but is still learning them - "Yay", "Daddy" and "Ma Ma".

He follows me around all the time and constantly pulls himself up against my legs.  He wants me to hold him more often than usual lately.  He also wants to be in the same room as us. He used to be content playing in the other room while we make dinner, for instance.  But not now.  So I keep a little box of toys in the kitchen and he comes in there and plays with those while we are in there.  He is still a good napper.  He takes 3 naps a day; one in the morning around ten, an afternoon nap around noon, and an evening nap around four.  He usually goes to bed for the night around 8:30pm and wakes up consistently at 7am.

As far as weight and height go, I am not really sure.  At his 9 month check up, he was 20.8lbs (51st percentile) and 30 inches (95th percentile).  He probably hasn't gained any weight.  He seems to be thinning out; and just getting taller.  He has been a little picky with food lately, and hasn't been eating that much.  Hopefully this is just a phase.  As far as his doctor is concerned, Finn is right on track with his vocabulary and motor skills.

His personality is still super sweet.  He is so fun right now!  I cherish every day with him.

Finally Time To Play Outside!!

Making Do With What We Have

Clearly this tub is waaaaaayyyy too small for him.  I never thought we would still be using it.
Pretty soon, I am going to have to figure something else out.

JJ is Outside!

Watching JJ through the back door is one of Finn's little hobbies.  He's pretty in to JJ.

Orange Popsicle

This was so cute until the popsicle was all gone.

Englewood Dam

Finn loves to go on walks.  We take a walk every evening if the weather permits.  It's nice to be outside and we can get JJ out for some exercise too.  This day, we went to the Englewood Dam.  The weather was perfect!  I am looking forward to the end of all this rain!
